why?

so i go to the Yoga Conference and do lots of yoga and lots of walking.  this is the kind of thing that would put me in the bed for two days, just because i don't walk everywhere i go and i don't do LOTS of yoga on a regular basis, as i should.  but, this year was different and i didn't hit the wall, as i refer to it, until TODAY! the one day i had plans to stay in my craft room crafting ALL DAY!!  so, after the kids went off to school i went back to bed with what felt like an elephant on my back and slept all day.  No, i didn't craft all day, i said... i slept.  i know this is my MS issue, but i don't like sleeping the day away.  and i guess it's better than not being able to walk, not being able to see or not being able to have control of my bowel or bladder (another post...)! so, if that's all i get is fatigue then i'll take it and keep learning how to balance it everyday.

here are the 2 scrapbook pages my group did this month.
they were NOT designed by me, they were designed by the lovely Sue Seemann of
check her out.

and besides all the Stampin Up! products, we did pull out another die cutting device i have to cut out the letters and numbers, and a few small leaves.  i haven't broken down and bought any letters for the bigshot since i have this other device, but never fear... i will!!
also, we used the Big Shot leaves die with the super cool Wood Sheets for the leaves.  gave it a cool fall touch, don't ya think?
happy wednesday.

OMGoodness...

you MUST go down to the 28 September Post and click under comments...
then see that i have a personal comment from MARY FISH!!! yes, THE mary fish commented on my blog!!!
for those of you that have zero understanding of my excitement, it is because Mary Fish is the Bomb!  she has done in ONE year at Stampin' Up! what others take 5 years to do.  She was #24 Demonstrator of the Year and the #1 Rising Star.  She started as a demonstrator when i did and now she's IT baby!!  truly.
having her comment on MY blog is like starting out in music and suddenly getting a blog comment from John Mayer OR OR OR starting out in minor league baseball and getting asked for your autograph by oh, i don't know...bad analogy... i don't know any new stud major league baseball players!  anyway, you get the Jist.  she rocks and she likes me, so now i rock.  thanks mary.  you're the best.
and for anyone who wonders who she is and wants to see her awesome blog... www.stampinpretty.com
she's my idol.

gorgeous day in colorado

you should see out my window right now... stunning, truly.

here's a cute and SIMPLE card i cased off somebody somewhere...enjoy!

28 September 2009

some cards...

here are some cards from our Club the week before last...
my friend Nik Seemann helped me design this hip 'Build A Bear dude'.

and here is the girl card:

Aren't they so cute... and this is a very simple card to make.

home

i am home from the Yoga Conference in Estes Park and it was WONDERFUL!  no, that is not me in the photo, but this picture gives you a good example of the peacefulness and tranquility of the weekend.
so do these:

the Elk were everywhere and bugling in the evenings.  it is always such a peaceful sound.

and the aspens were gorgeous...

it was a great place to be.

some more?

i can't believe that in all the excitement over my craft room yesterday that i forgot to mention one very important thing... it's been SNOWING here for 3 days... yes, snowing.  i do live in the mountains of colorado at 9000' but we rarely have 3 solid days of snow with accumulation on the first day of fall.  this is the kind of weather we get in a month or two.

the kids came home from school yesterday and hopped on the trampoline with the snow on it.  they thought that was really funny!

and my back deck has a couple of inches on it and it is still coming down.  plus,  it is COLD! i am not a fan.  i like it cold, especially with my MS, but not freezing!  it is usually fairly comfortable because from end of october on we have the insulation of several feet of snow on the ground until April.  brrrr...

so, here are some more pictures of my craft room... i was in there last night and it is SO fun to work in.  it feels right.  i am very happy and will post some pictures this week of the cards and pages we made at Stamp Club last week.

Heading off to the Yoga Conference in Estes Park, CO this weekend.  so, no posting.  i will post some cards tomorrow so you'll have some crafts to look at while i am gone.  And next week i'll be playing with My Digital Studio a lot, so you may see some cute things on here...
have a good Wednesday.

The Big Reveal

ok, so you know you are on to something when your mother calls you and asks you if you are still organizing.  you quickly think, organizing, well i am but what made you think of that, mom? (and i LOVE her response...) well, you haven't posted to your blog in a few days!!!!!!!!!!!!!  gotta love it... thanks for the support MOM!!
so, in all your excitement over my craft room, and boy have we done wonders, i took LOTS of pictures to show you... so here it is.  (and you can scroll down to see the 'before' pictures to be reminded of what it had become recently...

Same room, different day...

with a new 'work island' that i can stand around, since i am becoming a standing crafter, especially when mod podging...

look, a bed someone can actually sleep in!!

and the cleanest desk EVER in the history of www.lousgoods.com! wow.

and the cool picture of the punch hangers i got from Mary Fish on www.stampinpretty.com.  (thanks Mary!)  we don't have an Ikea in colorado, so i couldn't get the rods like hers.  but my handy local Ace store, owned by two Stampin' Up demonstrators as well, had a substitute.  these are merely towel bars... so brilliant!

and one close up now of my stamp shelf, which is new... (another Ace product).  i have a wonderful system i designed myself if you are interested in hearing it. i can post it one day soon with more pictures of how it works.  i had gotten to the point that simply looking for a favorite stamp set wasn't working anymore.  Now i have an inventory book with a letter and number code that makes it possible for me to get my hands on a certain step in minutes... nice.

enough for now... will post more pics and a card in the morning.

have a great Tuesday evening.

Addiction?

so my craft room is ALMOST DONE... and i keep thinking i need to post on here, but want to wait until i have a completed craft room to show you.  what is more of the addiction, wanting to post? or wanting to keep cleaning out my craft room?  it's been SO FUN cleaning out and seeing what i have... wow!!  my friend Deanne is blown away by the volume of supplies i have, and truly, i don't feel it is too many... at what point do i say enough?  the answer is, "I have NO idea..."  the thought of not purchasing crafting supplies is scary...

so, on to a card:

this was a little enclosure card i made last spring for a swap.

and this is my FAVORITE cased card ever (that means idea taken from someone else.)  And i didn't just CASE the idea, i cased the card completely, top to bottom, EXACTLY like it looked.  i LOVE it!!  Wish i could remember where i saw it.  Thank You to whoever came up with this design.

Have a Great Saturday.
Had two soccer games already.  Annie's team won 5-0, Gray's lost 0-5... but Gray's team was playing a team that had kids up to 15 on it.  One kid was 6'1"!!  Amazingly beautiful day in the mountains, though.  Perfect for Soccer.  Heading back at 2:30 for another game of Annie's.

16 September 2009

some fairly older cards...

these cards are from the last catalog, you can tell because they
have 1. old InColors and 2. a SellABration stamp.
but still thought it would be fun to share to get my blog started.
i am looking forward to a totally re-organized craft room so that i can make regular NEW cards to post.  it is still in progress and won't be totally done until next week now.

Crash, Boom, Bang...

so, today got out of my hands so fast... but i found SO MANY cool things for my craft room, that i will be using tomorrow to hang punches, decorate with!!  so, no pictures of craft room yet... but Deanne and i got a ton cleaned out and i am feeling pretty doggone good!  i swear it is the Isagenix products i use.  isagenix+MS=healthy, happy lou.  if you want to know more about them email me please.
so i will quickly post a few pictures then tell you about my evening and the TWO hour thunderstorm that got me up from my early evening NAP (yes, Mom, that is why i am posting at 12:12am)...

pretty, happy Upsy Daisy Card... on of my favorite sets of all time.
for all you SUp gals reading, this was obviously before July 1 because it was made with Baja Breeze Ink and Urban Oasis DSP... missing those colors quite a lot.  don't mention RHR or i may just start to cry... esp w christmas coming!!

don't mind the little dirty orange finger print... this is the card i used to demo with at Club and it got messed up.  you still get the jist of how dang fun it turned out...
so, as many of you know i have a 9 yr old daughter who has Anxiety that stems from Weather mostly.  Tonight we had an, 'honest to blog' (name the movie... my favorite!!) TWO HOUR thunderstorm.  some of you may think... so... but up here high in the mountains, they are usually past in 10-15 minutes.  this one was a doozy.  continuous lightening then thunder crashing and sometimes the next lightening would flash while the thunder was still banging from a moment ago... not a good night for my sweet girl.  BUT... as she is resiliant as always... she made it through and made it through with flying colors.  gotta love it when they are just tough!
so, good night.  i am off the bed.

14 September 2009

happy Monday

today is 'CLEAN OUT THE CRAFT ROOM DAY'... woo hoo!! believe it or not, it still looks like what it did in those photos from last week.  i haven't been able to touch it or do anything... except grab various items to help with homework, or pick up the ribbon that Ollie (cat) has managed to string across the floor. my friend, organizer-extraordinaire Deanne is coming at 10am, with supplies in hand, to get us started.  She went to one of those large everything stores last week to get some items to help w organization in there...
it's gonna be a long day.  AND... this cleaning out and organizing is exactly the kind of thing that will have me on my butt for the next two days, recovering.  for some reason, i have learned this summer that the simple act of cleaning out old junk and putting things in new places is VERY draining to an MS brain.
atleast this MS brain!
so, now onto some cute craft pictures:

this is the guest book i made for an angel...
a Season of Friendship Spring Card

and a Season of Friendship Fall Card
have a happy Monday...and i'll let you know how much we were able to accomplish tomorrow...
whew...i am tired already.

12 September 2009

happy, mellow, 'twilight' kind of saturday...

went to a lovely wedding today, but couldn't attend the reception as i would have liked to.  storms were overhead and my daughter has anxiety about weather.  was such a lovely and special wedding.  one to remember, best to you both Chelsey and Kevin!!
also went to a soccer game, my son's, and he had the first and only goal on his team... great job Gray!  unfortunately for our team, the Avalanche, the other team scored on us the minute they got the ball back so the game ended 1-1.  it's ok. it was a GREAT showing by our kids.
when i say it was a 'twilight' kind of day, that is what i say when it is drizzling and overcast.  it instantly reminds me of the books and movie Twilight because of the rainy weather in Forks.  did i mention one of my sister's gave me a set of Twilight stamps for my birthday... awesome!!  i had seen some online that were not very good but these are the bomb.  i will make some fun cards out of them soon and post.
so, to keep with the theme of crafting, here are somethings i made sometime ago:

heading to church tomorrow.  Youth Sunday... LOVE those.
High School kids are my favorite aged kids in the world, well besides all the other ages of people too... ha!  but, i always look forward to the once a year they get to shine...
have a great Sunday!!

10 September 2009

in memory of my tooth...

so i just had my first crown put on a tooth... and i shouldn't say first, i might not have another. it sure wasn't bad like i expected... but the novacaine is just starting to wear off. i'm not the slobbering fool that bill cosby portrayed anymore. remember that skit? so damn funny. another funny was my husband, witty as he is, keeps saying i got my tiara put on today... cute huh?
so here are some things i made one time:

this was a custom made clipboard i made for a woman who loves black & white.
and these are the cutest things...popcorn bowls made out of rolls of tickets...
i mod podge them to seal them from butter and salt, plus then they keep their shape.  i can't claim creative genius on this one, saw the idea in Family Fun Magazine.  thanks FF.
so, some cute things in honor of my tooth...

09 September 2009

and how about some crafts...

here are two cards i made the other day.
the hamburger card is all SUp! punches and i completely cased it from someone (sorry can't remember your name).  loved it so much that i had to make more.  my club girls thought it was the cutest ever.

and the second cards are ones i made with the scraps from our scrapbook pages last month at club.  it is using the Write Stuff paper pack and the You Rock stamp set... love these!!

craft room, kinda

so the question is now... WHAT DO I DO WITH ALL THE CRAPOLA ON TOP OF EVERYTHING??

Cat Hair or Dog Pee?

so my craft room is in a state of uproar... actually i will go take  a photo of it so  you can see what i mean.  it is all straightened up (ha!) so that the carpets in there could be cleaned yesterday.  actually, straightened up is not the correct term.  it has been turned upside down.  meaning EVERYTHING is now off of the floor... and ON TOP of the bed and desks... i just wish i could snap my fingers and it all would be completely organized and tidy.
the reason the carpets had to be cleaned drastically is that my precious pooch, maggie, is a very nervous girl (or nervous nelly, as my husband calls her.)  and... when she gets too worked up, she pees IN MY CRAFT ROOM.  (or has diarrhea, but that is another post.)  so, we have to have the carpets cleaned in there pretty regularly.  since, cat hair is always an issue with my projects and the various adhesives i use, my question of the day is: which is more of a problem, cat hair in finished work or the lingering smell of dog pee??  gross.

08 September 2009

so excited to know i am officially in the 'blog' world... and check out suzy seemann's new blog.  it is sue-z-qdesigns.blogspot.com... it's really cute!!
will add a photo of something cute i made, just to keep ya coming back.  this is a card i made two years ago (wow... how does time pass that quickly?) using the Peace and Love stamp and some other DSP from another company.  cute huh?

07 September 2009

two cards we made for a spring club.  one is for Easter and uses Easter Beauty stamp set.
the other card uses the bleach technique with Fifth Ave Floral stamp set.

www.lousgoods.com

i will have a link to www.lousgoods.com for now, but in the future, it may be NO MORE...
we'll see.  i just can't decide.  i don't get orders off of it, it's just for folks to view and get ideas so... WHY, WHY, WHY then did i pay for 3 blooming years of it.  money wasted... when i could have gotten this darling blog on blogspot a year ago for FREE... yes, free.  what a moron i am with money sometimes.  when will i learn to slow down and just take things a day at a time.  maybe when i'm 40... but that's still several years, so we'll see.  maybe never, but that's even farther...  hmmmm.
if i could make www.lousgoods.com look just like my blogspot i would be very happy. i like having lousgoods, my own thing.
this is consuming my life. so let me post a card to make you all want to come back...
